چکیده

In this paper, we present results of agent-based modeling for the solution of dynamic resource allocation problems in manufacturing. After a concise problem description, we start by identifying the agents necessary for the required shop floor control functionality. Then we describe the architecture and implementation of a multi-agent-system prototype based on the object-oriented framework JAFMAS, a blackboard-type data layer and the discrete event simulator ParSimONY. We present results of computational experiments with our prototype multi-agent-system.

DISA : an interactive scheduler using abstractions

A major challenge in the area of global market economy is to develop new techniques for solving real world scheduling, planning, logistic and resource allocation problems. Indeed, any industrial organisation can only be economically viable by maximising customer services, maintaining efficient, low cost operations and minimising total investment. Significant domains exhibiting these characteris...

Solving the Dynamic Job Shop Scheduling Problem using Bottleneck and Intelligent Agents based on Genetic Algorithm

The problem of Dynamic Job Shop (DJS) scheduling is one of the most complex problems of machine scheduling. This problem is one of NP-Hard problems for solving which numerous heuristic and metaheuristic methods have so far been presented. Genetic Algorithms (GA) are one of these methods which are successfully applied to these problems. In these approaches, of course, better quality of solutions...

Emergent e-Logistics Infrastructure for Timely Emergency Response Management by Collaborative Problem-Solving with Optimized Resource (Re)Allocation

This paper presents first results for a theoretical foundation for emergency e-Logistics based on an extended FIPA-compliant layered multi-agent system architecture. The approach is based on the holonic paradigm proposed by A. Koestler in his attempt to create a model for self-organization in biological systems and proven by the HMS Consortium to be very useful for resource management and alloc...

Meta-Reasoning For a Distributed Agent Architecture

Agent based computing offers the ability to decentralize computing solutions by incorporating autonomy and intelligence into cooperating, distributed applications. It provides an effective medium for expressing solutions to problems that involve interaction with real-world environments and allows modelling of the world state and its dynamics. This model can be then used to determine how candida...

Integrated modeling and solving the resource allocation problem and task scheduling in the cloud computing environment

Cloud computing is considered to be a new service provider technology for users and businesses. However, the cloud environment is facing a number of challenges. Resource allocation in a way that is optimum for users and cloud providers is difficult because of lack of data sharing between them. On the other hand, job scheduling is a basic issue and at the same time a big challenge in reaching hi...
